Four months to the day since I have mused...and I have discovered a stunning Goethe offering to share. "I have come to the frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element. It is my personal approach that creates the climate. It is my daily mood that makes the weather. I possess tremendous power to make life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration. I can humiliate or humour, hurt or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis is escalated or de-escalated, and a person is humanized or de-humanized. If we treat people as they are, we make them worse. If we treat people as they ought to be, we help them become what they are capable of becoming." GOETHE, 1749-1832

Let us be grateful for another new day! If your day is not going so well or if you are feeling down consider this. In my quiet musing this morning I came across a quote to share from Ravi Shankar, "it takes many years to be bound by rules in order to be free as a bird." I am celebrating my freedom in the release of the long awaited CD, WILD BLUE. It has been four years since my last CD came out, PARIS NIGHTS. Previous to that, I had released one CD on the average per year, for thirteen years, since 1989. I think I could say that I hit a wall...obstacles, changes in the genre, changes in the music coming through me, expanding, contracting, and adjusting. Doors opened, doors closed, sometimes there was no light at all. Life seemed to be filled with perceived rejections, greiving the losses of parents and other beloved family, and being cheated by a trusted friend and student. It was a challenge to count blessings. I learned to cherish and dwell on what used to be lesser occurances, like the color of the sky or a beautiful butterfly. Time moved things along. When I was finally ready to go with WILD BLUE, the outside world was not ready. God had another plan, not mine. There were delays, postponements, and many lessons learned in patience. Remember the oft quoted verses from the old testament of the Bible, "for everything there is a season." Yes, Turn, Turn, Turn. Well, sometimes it feels like you have turned so much you are spinning and then you get dizzy and then you just try to get your balance so you do not fall down. That was me! So, if you are feeling like that today, yesterday, and maybe tomorrow, let me tell you that falling down is not to be feared. Something wonderful that you can trust to be there will catch you when you fall. I learned that it is better to go ahead and fall and then start again. For when you fall you may find humility, humbleness, and selflessness. You will be picked up and delivered to a new day in a new way. Take care of yourself. Bless the grace in us all. May we dwell in acceptance and unconditional love.

for inner peace please consider this: Meditation and japa are not the only forms of sadhana. Selfless service is also spiritual practice, and is the easiest path for self-unfolding to take place....by doing selfless service for others, our own hearts expand and we ourselves are the first to feel happy, "....a sadhak should consider each and every work that he undertakes to be sadhana, a means to purify his heart." Amma I admire all those who come by this naturally. Nothing else is important, it just works out.

I am very excited to be returning to perform in England! It has now been three years since my tour there with my dear friends Peter White and Jaared. I am playing at the Pizza On The Park club in Kensington and Hyde Park near Buckingham Palace in central London. I will be perfroming with Ami and Julian from our tour three years ago. Ami, a great drummer who performs regularly in London with varous jazz and pop artists and Julian, who played with the group Incognito and now travels extensively throughout Europe and US playing with various jazz ensembles. This performance will be an intimate opportunity to review songs from many of the CDS as well as highlight some of the new pieces from the newest CD, WILD BLUE, debuting in the spring on EVA CASSIDY"S record label. Very exciting news. There is an invitation to return to merry olde London towne in a few months for three or four dates in connection with the release of WILD BLUE. Cannot wait to rekindle friendships with old friends in England as well as begin new ones. Thank you for all of your love and support and encouragement.

a new day a new season a new digital music system a new song a new attitude a new CD to be released a new asana in yoga a new faith a new start a new gratefulness a new enthusiasm a new opportunity to make great music! I am so blessed and humbly thankful for prayers and loving support from my friends and family. FYI....my very difficult, personally heartwrenching and painful lawsuit is almost over. one of my own private voice students cheated me out of the authorship of the music that I composed for his little poems. He had to correct his wrongdoings for he had willfully misfiled a copyright in the Library of Congress claiming himself as the sole author. He made the same claims with ASCAP. Be warned teachers....those students you help the most may end up caring the least. He also had to pay damages to me. After a torteous two and a half years, it is finally almost completely over, settled in mediation. Follow your heart, follow your bliss, stand up for your rights in your work, remain true to yourself. I survived and now I can come back to being me....stronger and closer to the divine.

time to catch up.....have been on location in Tulsa and the greenbelt of eastern Oklahoma working on an indie feature film called Billy Fail.....a story about a boy that gets orphaned when his grandfather dies and his experiences as he comes of age. We were shooting in the most amazingly beautiful places such as the abandoned Native American cemetary, the lavender farm, the banks of the Illinois River, and a French Monastery on a 1200 acre farm. I hope to score the music for the film later this year. In the meantime, I catered, vegetarian, the meals and delivered them to the awesomely talented and famished crew. Will inform soon of the Billy Fail website and blog. Newest CD, Wild Blue, will be coming out in late August or early September! Very excited to finally deliver. This one has been a long emotional journey. There are ten songs, three of them cover songs paying homage to Bruce Springsteen, Marcus Hummon, and one of my favorite old torches. The other seven songs are original and are my best attempt at channeling truth, love, peace, and happiness to the world. My focus for gratefulness today is on my web designer CD designer, Don Giannatti. We did a shoot for more photos for the Wild Blue CD at the La Jolla Cove on a Sunday morning. I think that is one of everybodys favorite spots. It was a glorious morning. Thank you Thank you all for reading, sharing, caring, and keeping music in your heart. A moment for my yoga friend , Sacha, who left his animated physical body as the result of an accident last week. I will always hear his deep full chanting voice in my memory. with lovelightjoy, jeanne

"Sow a thought, reap an act, sow an act, reap a habit, sow a habit, reap a character, sow a character reap a destiny." from my friend and beloved fan Rod in San Francisco. Wanted to share that with you and you.

This is for my father who comes into my consciousness so boldly today. He reminds me of the angels he saw around his bedside in those last few days at the Phoenix Veterans Hospital. Ah, what a site it must have been to behold! My father, a very brave and stoic soul became so humbled and sure of the presence of God and the existence of that which he would never talk to me about until that time. I found out later that he had prayed the Lords Prayer many times in his fierce battle fifty years earlier in the Pacific Ocean with his navy shipmates that were torpedoed and sunk. They were on the USS Indianapolis Navy Cruiser at the end of WWII. My father died fifty years to the day of his rescue from the five days and nights he had spent in the Pacific without food or water or a raft. Never give up your dream, you might rearrange it. Practice living light and easy. Whatever you may call God, You Are That. You come from That and to That, you return. Love life, kiss the earth, sing to a bird, absorb the goodness of the world and walk on. Walk on in faith. I think I will go write a song. Smile

Greetings to you!! Performances to watch for in the near future will include Los Angeles and Southern California area; the Soiled Dove in Denver, Colorado; the Washington DC area and Orlando, Florida. Watch the Performance page for new info. I just returned from a most uplifting trip and concert in Trinidad, California. Much grattitude to everyone that attended the concert at the Trinidad Town Hall on behalf of the newly formed Trinidad Town Trust. Special thanks to Patti, Jeanine, and of course the whalewatcher, Donna. Much time and love was given to make this event happen....more musing soon, j

Warmest greetings to all: i am looking forward to performing in Las Vegas on October third, a Friday evening, at the Stardust Hotel with Jaared, sax sensation from Washington, DC. He accompanied Peter White and myself to England last fall and we have decided to do some "gigs" together. We played recently at the renowned Breckenridge Colorado Genuine Jazz Festival with Don Patterson on bass and Donnell Spencer Jr. on drums. I heard that our group created "a buzz". We all had fun and now are excited about the Las Vegas performance. Sometimes an artist can start to take their performance opportunities for granted, until you think about it a little differently. What if the next performance was to be your last....? Makes one say a little prayer and reappreciate all we share. May God Bless You.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever, Amen

i performed on January 25th in Charlotte, NC at a beautifully restored 1910 house in the downtown area. thanks to Judge Shirley Fulton, the Wadsworth House proprietor, there were several attendees who came on late notice. i got to visit my long time fans and friends and make some new acquantances. it was a restorative evening, performing during the cold snowy winter in the southeast. now back to work on the new cd project. this is a project unburdened by time constraints, genre demands, or commercial obligations. it is the work i have aimed for, often secretly, all my life. it feels so good. can not wait to share it.

Acceptance and surrender....two elements to ponder today.

It is one of those days, the turned down kind. I went to my website to check on some pages that have been misbehaving. As I began to peruse through the guestbook, I began to read the entries. Must have been a conscious effort to bring my spirits up. I was so touched by the awesome comments that have been written. One said that love and music are forever expanding in this world. I could just ponder that statement for hours. The potential artistic deeds that could result from acting on that statement inspire me tremendously. Thank you, thank you, thank you. And to Don Giannatti, webmaster supreme, thank you forever. I live in gratefulness for those who have been supportive of the music. You give and care without an agenda or ulterior motive. You are like earth angels to me because of how much love you give to humanity. I want to be more like you and motivate others through the music to be more like you. We can all be buddhas and live in the likeness of Christ. It is about doing; acting on our words, thoughts, and meditations and prayers. I ask for continued acceptance of the jealousy and ignorance. May I work to overcome my own and that of my fellow human beings. I want to dance in the light of love and music. Thank you from my heart.
