Hi Everyone,

My friend Briana just helped me sequence the 11 songs on my new album that I recorded on May 24th and 25th at Castle Oaks Productions. I love the order she created — Briana is an emotional genius. Grazie, Briana!!

If you have not seen the latest newsletters or blog posts I will fill you in on a little about the album. Abraham Laboriel, the great bassist and my desr friend had played live with me previously a few times, but we had never recorded together. So, Abraham wanted to join me in the studio this time. He also introduced me to Walter Rodriguez, a massively talented drummer and percussionist. Originally from Puerto Rico, Walter now resides in Los Angeles and is heard on many new film scores. He specializes in all my favorite skins: tabla, cajon, udu, and conga.

My friend from my Japan tour in February, Kazunori Koga, flew in from Osaka to join us on acoustic and electric guitars. He thrilled me with his playing when we did the live shows in Japan and again at Catalina Bar & Grill in Hollywood on the day before our recording sessions. Abraham, Walter, Kazunori, and I became a global group, united in the divine spirit of music.

I mixed the album in June. Don Murray is at the sonic controls again as the recording and mix engineer supreme. There are 10 original songs and 1 Bob Dylan cover of “If Not For You”. That song became even more enticing after I learned that Mr. Dylan wrote it for his dear friend, George Harrison. I have certainly given my nod of appreciation to the Dylan’s…Jacob’s 6th Avenue Heartache on Glide Deluxe Edition, and now his father.

Looking forward to a release in late September or early October.

sending peace and kindness,
Jeanne
